Relief is in sight! UPDATED after visit with results

Well after barely being able to walk yesterday and my legs going completely numb last night that DH had to help me roll over and stand to go to the bathroom I decided ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!!

I made a chiropractor appointment for today. THe secretary was really sweet and said the Doctor worked on her when she was pregnant and was great! Hopefully he will do the same for me!

Anyone see a chiropractor during their pregnancy. I'm a bit nervous/paranoid since I have never seen one....My midwife recomended to go see one so I know its ok, she just said to make sure they have experience working with pregnancy, which he does.....

Sigh......ughhh the nerves....Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

UPDATED:

First off....OH MY GOD my chiropractor is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!

Well its actually worse than I thought......UGH........ I have 2 bulging disks in my lower back. He doesn't think they are herniated yet. So he is going to work on it for a few weeks and see if we make progress and if not we will talk MRI etc...... He was shocked at how calm I was considering the condition of my back. I guess my pain tolerance is pretty good so far, although I was in tears today just moving or walking.

I'm farkin annoyed.......I swear I have had the worse luck with this pregnancy.

So funny thing....he is working on me and i'm laying on my back, By the way the baby HATES when I lay on my back so she starts kicking me in the ***.....

All of the sudden I'm like "Oh my god she is going to make me fart" Chat Icon

So I start talking ot her in my head "Oh my sweet little Lexi stop kicking mamma in the tushy if you do Daddy will buy you diamonds.... Just don't make me fart in front of Mc Dreamy" Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

She stopped....... I told DH he better start saving for the diamonds Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm feeling a little more relief but not much...he said I am giong to be sore for a few days and that its going to take a few visits. I go back on TUesday for another session.

I guess its a good thing I finally went and saw someone.

I just hope at the end of this pregnancy I will look back and laugh at this.....Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Relief is in sight!

I love my chiropractor and don't know what I would do without her. I have been seeing her regularly for almost 3 years (had a bad car accident) - once I found out I was pregnant, I stopped going due to paranoia. Once I hit about 14 weeks and started to feel a little better, so I went back. And let me tell you - you will notice a difference immediately! You won't regret going!

Re: Relief is in sight!

My chiro was a godsend during last PG. My sciatica was so out of control and within a few visits I was feeling great and sleeping better too!

Re: Relief is in sight!

just make sure he/she's a good/real one. my mom used to work for a neurologist and heard some horror stories from people who went to fakes. also, when i was in high school i went for an interview at one place for filing and they asked me if i would be comfortable manipulating patients if i was taught how...

that being said the good ones are great. just make sire to do your research first.Chat Icon

Re: Relief is in sight!

i was just about to mention this in your other thread but i forgot - i had my obgyn recommend a chiropracter to me because i could not stand a sharp pain in my lower left back...i thought it was sciatica. i got it really early during my pregnancy, certain moments i'd get a sharp stabbing pain and then it would disappear.

the chiropractor ended up referring me to a therapist - a women's healthcare specialist who specializes in helping mommies with all the pains they have relating to pregnancy. she is the best thing that ever happened to me! i love her to pieces and she really helped me out. i still have the pain every once in a blue moon but it is nothing like it was before.

she's part of a national physical therapist association or something like that, if you need the website to do a search for therapists in your area, let me know! Chat Icon
