I love that our DS's school has Parent-Teacher conferences on election day. That's our polling place, so I can take the day off to see DS's teacher, then take a few steps out of the room and vote.

where do you go to vote? same place as the pres election?
i have voted before for local elections but cannot remember for the life of me WHERE i went. it is so annoying!

ok - i guess i'm still registered at the old one. we just moved in august but i haven't updated info w/ the voter registration. hmm.

i know for me its at the same place i always vote. I am going early because i really wanted to vote for our town supervisor.

BUMP, voted and the running joke at the polling place is how no one shows up but retired people. That is sad - these are really important elections too. These people have a direct link to us!

Same place you vote in presidential elections
The county and town races are being held today. It is sad that the turn out is so much less since these are the elected offiicials who have a greater influence on day to day activities!
These elections will determine taxes, health and welfare, police force etc.
We are so lucky to have this right in this country. As a woman, I truly appreciate it and it is staggering to think that women have had the right to vote for less than a century (since 1920) in this country. It is a right, priveledge and obligation that should not be taken for granted.

I'm not retired & I'm going! Not until tonight though--DH too.
I am particularly interested in the County Executive race by me.
