I still remember where I was when I heard the news of the crash. I had a friend in the coast guard at the time who looked for the plane. So tragic. They were a beautiful couple. And nobody talks about the fact that Carolyn's sister also perished

Wow, fifteen years...I remember being glued to the coverage.

The song "Lightening Crashes" by Live always reminds me of this event...they dedicated the song to John and Carolyn at Woodstock that week, and I remember my friend and I were in the audience crying. :'(

Like another poster said the sister lauren also passed and not only was that a double loos for her parents but she was a twin! Also their two dogs. This saddens me for so many reasons. Above all they seemed so normal and their fights that the media always caught still looked so normal. Also they're both so beautiful and their 90s style classy clothes I love but it also makes me feel old lol.

So sad I used to work 2 floors below Carolyn Bessettes sister and her office was flooded with flowers. Just a tragedy!

15 years!!!!! come on....seriously.....time is flying by too quickly for me...I would have said maybe 9 years! I remember watching the coverage non stop too. So terribly sad for all families involved but for the Bessett family losing two daughters must have been horrific.

Wow - doesn't feel like 15 years at all. When Carole Radziwill joined RHNY I read her book, What Remains. She was married to JFK Jr.'s cousin and best friend, Anthony Radziwill. Carole and Carolyn were best friends. Anthony Radziwill was dying of cancer and JFK Jr. was preparing the eulogy for him when he and his wife had their plane crash. The book charts mostly her marriage to Anthony (who died a few weeks after JFK Jr.) but details her friendship with Carolyn B. Such a moving book about incredible loss.

We happened to be in the area when the news broke. My mom was interviewed on the beach about her reaction ("It's just so sad")

I actually went to his apartment building a few days after it happened. I took many photos. i don't know what I was expecting to see but in a way it was almost like going to a visiting of someone who passed. you waited on a long line and you got to his front doot of the building that a police office stood at.

It was amazing the effort of what people created and did. Beautiful paintings, dioramas and people leaving the news paper of when his father died.

I really liked him. And he seemed so genuine.


I feel like he and Princess Diana were taken too soon.
