replacing shower liner?
How often do you do this? I spray it with the shower cleaner several times a week and am starting to notice some icky spots on the bottom. Wondering what protocol is...it's been up about 5 months... TIA!

Re: replacing shower liner?
I use to replace them when ever they looked dirty. I've never cleaned them However last yr I bought this liner for about $20 and it's washable. I love it, every other week with my whites I throw it in and it comes out like new.

Re: replacing shower liner?
When it starts to get grungy looking I replace it - I pick up a couple of liners at a time to have on hand. I guess every 4 or 5 months or so. I never really kept track.

Re: replacing shower liner?
I replace mine every few months. I get heavy weight ones, and they are mildew free, but I just feel better with a new one.

Re: replacing shower liner?
I toss mine in the washing machine with bleach. Take it out, hang it back up and it dries perfect.

I bought the fabric washable liners. I spray them down everyday but once a month I throw it in the washer & dryer...

Re: replacing shower liner?
ABout once every few months. DH cleans the bathroom every 2 weeks, and when he sees the curtain starting to turn, we switch it.

Me too.
Not to sound too granola, but throwing away all those vinyl liners isn't doing the environment any good.

Re: replacing shower liner?
My husband got me into scrubbing it every time we clean the bathroom. I hate doing this. And in our apartment, we have a black shower liner (for his stupid clear Elvis Jailhouse Rock shower curtain ) so you see the soap scum big time! There's no hiding it.
In our house- no more black curtain liner!! So hopefully I won't have to be scrubbing the rest of my life!

I wash them in the washing machine. I get the heavy duty clear liners. Every few months or so I throw them in the washer.

Re: replacing shower liner?
I change my fabric curtain ever 3 months( the OCD kicks in and I coordinate my bath and bedroom to the seasons ) so I replace it with a new 1 everytime I switch. They cost about $4 at Walmart so I buy a few at a time

Re: replacing shower liner?
I don't have any shower curtains anymore but in the past I would buy them several at a time at the dollar store or walmart & change them with the seasons & different shower curtains. Now I'm too granola & I'd be worried about the landfills

Re: replacing shower liner?
We have a fabric liner, we just put it and the shower curtain in the wash. No need to replace every few months, that is very wasteful.

I have just a cotton shower curtain. No liner. I put it in the wash after 2-3 weeks. I love it.

Re: replacing shower liner?
For those of you that wash your liner, you don't find it a real pain to keep taking it down and putting it back up? Oh man I can't stand doing it when I finally replace it...I can't imagine doing it more often just to keep it clean!
Then again I hate scrubbing it... either way it's a chore!!!
