Replacing two basement windows
Lowe's is going to come out and do an estimate.
The windows are about $100 each and the install is $99 each and that's without framing.
I figure the whole job will be about $500.
Sound right?
It sounds ridiculous for two basement windows for an unfinished basement doesn't it? I think this is pretty much what it costs though.

Re: Replacing two basement windows
good to know that they even do them! we have to replace at least 8 windows in our basement and garage (which is underground next to the basement). haven't even begun to research, so not sure on price, but very good to know that lowes offers this.

Re: Replacing two basement windows
it sounds great - we have to do one and I thought it would be $500 for one.

Re: Replacing two basement windows
that is definately a low price for windows, even if they are in the basement. Are they energy star rated? DH and I got quotes on energy star rated windows for our basement and they came in close to 400 per window.

Re: Replacing two basement windows
Yes energy star rated. I hope that the measure standard because if not they are a lot more and I'm told are hard to find.
I'll let you all know.

Re: Replacing two basement windows
We got a quote from Tri-State for $350 a window (for basement windows too) so I think that's a pretty good deal!

Re: Replacing two basement windows
We've been pricing them and HD and Lowe's had the best prices at like $100 a window. We have to replace a good 6 or so, so it's the installation that is killing us. DH is deciding if it's something he and his brother can do themselves.

Re: Replacing two basement windows
we just bought basement windowns at Home Depot and they were $88 plus tax. but i guess it depends on your windows, though i think ours were fairly standard.
dont know about labor though, DH put them in himself.
