Repost: Did anyone have preterm contractions when they were pregnant?
I have a question. I did have them with my son starting at 28 weeks, but these are worse.
I went today and had the FFN test done and it came up negative. I came home, and the cramping is still there and getting stronger. Now, I keep on telling myself that I am okay for 2 weeks, because the test came back neg. but is this true? Thanks!!!

I had them every 2-5 minutes starting at about 28 weeks. I became an L&D regular. For the last 2 months they were pretty strong.
I had to be induced
I wasn't overreacting either, the contractions only started to feel worse than the normal ones when I was 8cm dilated with ptocin.

Re: Repost: Did anyone have preterm contractions when they were pregnant?
Yes at 34 weeks. They went on and off for 2 hours. Then stopped by the time I went to the ER. They first thought they were HB but after discribing them, they were indeed early labor.
I had a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks. I was not effaced or dilated and DS was going to be late according to the Dr if I did not have the c-section.

similar story here. contracted every 2-5 minutes from 25 weeks on. had to go to l&d 3 times. got every medication in the book with no improvement.
i hung on until 39 weeks 4 days.
the day i went into labor i didn't even realize i was in labor because the contractions were the same. they didn't feel worse until i was 5cm dilated.

same story here also. Except I was induced at 38 weeks and ended up with a c-section anyway!

Re: Repost: Did anyone have preterm contractions when they were pregnant?
I had them while I was pregnant and made 4 or 5 trips to L&D because of them. I had a few FFN's which came back negative. The OB made me take terbutaline/brethine pills every 6 hours until I reached term to stop the contractions. I also had to go in for weekly NST's to monitor the contractions and baby's movement. DS held on until 38w6d Although the medication's side effects were a pain, it helped DS stay in long enough!
