Yeah I don't understand why they weren't kicked out and why adult guests were lining up to get autographs? My guests would have been like *** and gone on with the party!

Re: Repost from LIW from the knot
First of all, no one I know would probably even know who the hell that was. Even JT, who is into movies and all, was like, who?
I just find it odd that neither the bride nor the groom decided to speak up and say anything and have them removed. I mean COME ON. You paid for your wedding and planned and planned and something like that happens and you just stand back and let it? Something doesn't seem right. JMHO.

Obviously, I didn't have something like this happen. But, as most of the civilized world knows, I had quite a few wedding disasters.
MANY people have asked me "why didn't you or your husband DO SOMETHING?"
All I can say is this: First, on a girl's wedding day, she is not her normal self. Second, with EVERYONE staring and taking pictures, it doesn't seem 'okay' to tell someone to stop doing something. And, the biggest thing that did it for me and DH was just complete and utter SHOCK at the things that were happing. It was like we were both paralyzed with shock. In the moment, we didn't think "we'll never have this day back". I guess we both thought "she'll stop. Any minute now. She'll stop and then everything will be okay"
That's the best way I can explain why a bride and groom wouldn't correct something that's going wrong.

I can understand that. However, don't you think if someone showed up in Star Wars costumes, SOMEONE would have done something? I mean, my grandfather almost went up on the alter and beat the crap out of the deacon because he forgot what he was saying during the ceremony. I just think in THIS situation, it was so wacky that I know no one would have allowed it to happen, ESEPCIALLY my family. I mean, I can't imagine the maitre'd at my wedding just being blaze about that when my husband nor I ever told them about it.

You'd be surpised what people say and do. There was 1 thing that my MIL and her SIL did that I found out about much later. It sounds so trivial that I never posted about it. Although, I was a little peeved.
Apparently, they arrived at the reception hall with some sugar coated almonds from Italy. I was already at the hall, in the bridal suite with DH eating cocktail hour food.
My MIL grabbed the Maitre D and told him that *I* wanted the almonds put on each table right away. So, he ran to the kitchen with the almonds, put them into glass dishes and put the dishes out on each table.
I never even knew what was happening...
My guess is that this MIL told the Four Seasons that the bride and groom approved of the SW characters...

Re: Repost from LIW from the knot
It totally sounds like the MIL told the WC that it was a "surprise" for her son and that he would love it. And I bet she said she would mention it at the RD...since the WC didn't hear anything from horrified bride, she thought it was a go. Although she DEF should have checked. WOW!
