Re: Repost from Parenting- Pediatrician Question
When I gave birth to DS, my pediatrician was not the one who came to see DS at the hospital because she was on vacation when I had him.
She has her own practice, but shares an office with another doctor. He was the one who came to see DS. For me, it was no big deal. I wasn't crazy about the other doctor, but he wasn't going to be DS ped. She has been the one to see him ever since he got out of the hospital and I have been very happy with that.

Re: Repost from Parenting- Pediatrician Question
I am going to select a pediatrician who admits to the hospital I am delivering at (Stony Brook). This is for two reasons, one so the doctor can come right after I deliver and two because the hospital has a very good pediatric unit just in case we ever needed it down the line it is important to me that "our" pediatrician admits to that hospital.

Re: Repost from Parenting- Pediatrician Question
my pediatrician is not affiliated with my hospital, and i dont think its necessary to have ur doctor see the baby in the hospital. I know the pediatricians in the hospital are excellent, and if god for bid there was a problem, and ur baby needed to go to the NICU, the NICU is in charge of the baby, not the pediatrician.
