Repost from Travel-Cruise to Bermuda vs. Disney World?

Do you think it would be cheaper to do the cruise as food is included?
This would be for a family of 4-kids-10 and 4.

they have the food packages at Disney which we used and we thought were cheaper. You can get the package that has lunch and dinner included. We used that while at disney and love it

Re: Repost from Travel-Cruise to Bermuda vs. Disney World?

You don't have to spend a ton of money at WDW. They have great counter service food that is inexpensive. www.allearsnet.com has a list of the menus for all the restaurants. I personally think the kids would have more fun at WDW than on a cruise. My sister and her family of 4 at the time spent around $2000 total for 7 days with their food, hotel, park tickets and airfare on SW. I personally always pack breakfast type foods to eat in the room before we head to the parks. And I pack bottled water and juice to take with us to the parks.

Oops, they were a family of 5, not 4 at the time. I think one was free though (under 3)

That seems so cheap!! When I researched it, minus the food it was $3,000 alone!

Well it all depends on where you are staying. We've stayed at the value resorts and at the deluxe resorts. There is a HUGE price difference between the two. While the deluxe is very nice, my son prefers the "larger than life" value resorts.

www.mousesavers.com is a good resource for discounts, and www.disboards.com is a great message board to help with planning.

$3k is awfully high for that resort. They advertise 6 days for a family of 4 for $1600 on the site. I would play around with it again and see what you come up with. I recently priced it for 2 adults one child and the baby (free) in April it was around $1100 for 5 days. This was with no hopping though or water park option.

I actually just did it with the full package, hotel and air for August of 2008 and it was $2,800 for the 4 of us. It would be $700 more for the lowest food package.
That $1,600 is not including air though. AND...I put it through to go to LGA, not Islip which is more expensive.

Well, August is typically free dining month. They have ran that for the past 2 or 3 years. That doesn't come out until the Spring though so if you book now and the free dining comes out, you can just call to change yoru package. I wouldn't book air through them, you could probably do better on your own with a Ding fare from Southwest or an internet special.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to have to think about that too.
