Repost from Travel: Need vaca help fast!!
My DH and I plan on going away for our 1st anniversary and need advice on where to go.
We have tickets that expire tonight so we need to book quick!!
These are the cities we have come up with for affordability ticket wise
Boston Richmond, VA DC Raleigh/Durham Atlanta Pittsburg Cleveland, OH
Our anniversary is New Year's Eve.
Any recommendations of where to go? What to do? Where to stay?
TIA

Me too. Maybe DC as a second choice. Pittsburgh? Not to laugh, but you don't want to go on vacation to Pittsburgh.

DC you can go to all the museums, white house, etc.
Boston too has a lot of museums, restaurants, etc.
Baltimore may be a good choice too. they have a great acquarium.

I remember my dad saying "Pittsburgh is the PITTS" when I was growing up! But he grew up near there...

If you do decide to come to Boston, as my screen name implies, I live there
If you are here on New Years Eve, there is an event called First Night. You need to buy a button (it acts like a ticket) and there are tons of events, ice sculptures, fireworks, and a parade.
There is also the aquarium, several museums, the Freedom Trail, and Newbury Street for shopping.
Feel free to FM me if you have any questions or need more detailed recommendations :)
