REs who work with Alexander kofinas
Hi all. I need to set up consultations with REs who will work with Kofinas. I know his brother, bravermen and dr T in the city all will. All three might not work for me for one reason or another.
Is there anyone else?
He will be treating blood issues (lovenox), immune issues, and other things pending test results.
So I need an RE who will accept/work with my parallel treatment from Kofinas.

Re: REs who work with Alexander kofinas
I pretty much think those three are the only ones you mentioned that believe in the same type of treatments as Kofinas.
In all honesty; you can work with an RE of your choice and Kofinas without the RE knowing. I have done it.
Unfortunately; most RE's are against anything and everything Kofinas does; it's almost easier to not say anything.
Treating Immune issues (prednisone; Intralipids) will not hurt or effect anything so IMO; an RE wouldnt need to know you are on that. Trust me, save yourself the eye roll. lol
You can mention you are on Lovenox; which is a blood thinner.
I guess my point here; is dont drive yourself too crazy finding two that will match. Its really not needed.
But this is all just my opinion; and my experience. LOTSA LUCK TO YOU.

REs who work with Alexander kofinas
I actually just made an appointment with Kofinas because he came so highly recommended and my RE doesn't know. My RE actually asked me to make a consult with a High Risk DR because of my age and that I am a type II diabetic and have had 2 failed IVF's. I didn't think twice about the two of them working together.
I wish you much luck!!!

I personally wouldn't hide anything from your RE. When spending tens of thousands of dollars, I wouldn't do anything or take anything that all my drs aren't aware of. Just my opinion.
ETA: Yes, I mean I would NOT hide anything! Oops!

Guessing you meant WOULDN'T hide anything and yes I agree!
This isn't s game. It's your health. Everyone is is working as a TEAM toward a common goal of bringing you a healthy baby. A team, meaning everyone needs to be on the same page.
As an aside, I went to a consult where the doctor I met with literally rolled his eyes when I said the word lovenox..... And another one who outright told me that dr Braverman was a quack and that he didn't respect his philosophies. You don't want to work with doctors who will be at odds, or who will be discrediting your protocol.

I'm a patient of Dr. Kofinas and Dr. Zapantis is my RE. Dr. Z is very open to Dr. Kofinas' protocol.

Re: REs who work with Alexander kofinas
I would ask Kofinas's office for a recommendation. They know which RE's will work with him.

That's the doctor who forgot who I was after four months. I will never work with him again after that last awful appointment.

They mentioned the ones I had in my post as well as my former RE. Just looking to see if there are other REs that speak positively about the kinds of treatments that Kofinas does.

What makes Kofinas so different? I'm just starting this whole process...
He helps treat patients with repeat losses, genetic issues, high risk pregnancy, failed IVFs., etc. He is not an RE but in my case he will treat me before and during pregnancy while I am treated by a RE for my FET. He treats thrombosis issues, immune issues, and more in a way that not every RE would think to do.
ETA... I'm new to Dr. Kofinas. If others can add to this to explain what he does, feel free to add on.

REs who work with Alexander kofinas
You can try dr Brenner at Li Ivf-if it works with everything else, you would likely end up just being monitored etc there.

Sorry that you had a bad experience with him. I've been with him for over six months and I have to say he is one of the most compassionate doctors I've met. Also, just a heads up the doctors that you mentioned will have their own immune protocol that might not be the same as Dr. Kofinas. Your best bet is to find a doctor that doesn't specialize in immune issues. Good luck!

REs who work with Alexander kofinas
I would stick with the ones he recommends. There is a reason these men are miracle workers and stick together. I also think once you get pregnant you have to work with certain OBGYNs too. However, between all three of my choices I have a DD so I'm in the boat of its totally worth the limited selection and $. Thinking of you!

I'm sorry but I could not disagree with that ^^ more.
Immune protocols don't vary much. In fact, I can already tell you what your protocol will be. Also, the point of having a team of doctors who respect each other and work together is so they could collaborate on your care.
Your best bet is to find someone who DOES specialize in immune issues, if you are going to work with Dr.Kofinas. At very least, you shouldn't go to someone outright against it.

Immune protocols do vary. If she goes with Dr. Braverman it won't be the same protocol as Dr. Kofinas. I know this for a fact. If you have two doctors that specialize in the same thing of course they are going to have their own opinions. She should absolutely go to an RE that supports immune issues. My point was that if she wants Dr. Kofinas to take the lead in her immune issues she should find someone who doesn't specilzes in that so they refer to him about immune issues instead of coming up with their own plan.

Yes protocols (can) vary a bit-- but lets face it- there's not a ton of wiggle room. If you're tackling immune issues, you're likely going to be on a combo of lovenox, intralipids, baby aspirin.... And the list goes on based on your specific needs.
Yes I know how protocols won't always align between let's say dr Braverman and dr Kofinas (I was a patient of both for YEARS, as well as a patient at SIRM). I also sat though many second opinions from doctors who laughed in my face about this stuff.
Of course they OP can do what she wants- as can you- but I personally would not try and coordinate two doctors with conflicting philosophies.

Yes to all of the above. After multiple failed IVF's with RS of NY, I actually got pregnant with a TI cycle, which was only monitored through Kofinas. He was instrumental in my getting (and then staying) pregnant.
