Nick's Pizza on Ascan and Austin ---- gas oven pizza to die for, amazing salads and dessert. Affordable.
Jade on 71st/Continental at Forest Hills LIRR Station ---- Thai Aisian. Very good.

Narita!!! It's Japanese food. My FAVORITE restaurant in the WORLD!!! What I wouldn't give to eat there- but it's a 2 hour drive to get there now (and yes, I do still go from time to time- lol). It's between Austin and Queens Blvd. on 70th Road.

I second Narita..and while it's not cute, for yummy mexican, there is no other place than 5 Burros on Austin St.

I agree with Jade and Narita, both are very good.
If you want more American style food that is really good you can try Bonfire Grill. It is on Austin Street right off of 72nd Road. Its fairly new, it opened less than a year ago and DH and I are already regulars there. All of my friends and family that I have brought there also love it. The food is really good and its not that expensive.

Portofino, on the corner of Queens Blvd and Ascan. It was our fave Italian restaurant when we lived in FH.
We also love Narita.
