Restaurant suggestions in Nassau
I'm looking to plan a 50th bday dinner for my father. Unfortunately, it's almost last minute (bday is a month from now). I'd like a place with GREAT food, and a private room (we'll only have 20-25) guests. I already tried Mateo's in Bellmore but their room is booked, and they can't accomodate our group in the main restaurant. Any other suggestions?
TIA!

Re: Restaurant suggestions in Nassau
I had DH's 40th b-day at the Main Event in Plainviw on Old Country Rd. It wasn't a private room but a side of the restaurant that is separated by the huge bar.
The food is excellent and they specialize in seafood.
My sister in law told me about Violettas on Sunrise Hwy in Bellmore/Merrick. She was just there for a party and I thinks she said the upstairs room is private. She loved the food. The place has been around forever.
Thom and Thom in Wantagh. Their upstairs room is private. Nice menu.

Re: Restaurant suggestions in Nassau
Not sure if they have rooms, but Pappa Razzi and Jonathan's in Mineola are pretty big so they might be an option.
West End Cafe in Carle Place does private parties, and Koenig's in New Hyde Park too.
Cozymel's in Westbury is a fun Mexican place and I'm pretty sure you can get a private room there too.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Hope it helps.

Wickers in Hicksville.
I planned a 70th birthday party there last August for about 25-30 people, it was excellent. The staff was great, they were always available but you didn't feel like they were hovering over you, the food was excellent - everyone had a good time.

Re: Restaurant suggestions in Nassau
Pompeii in West Hempstead is extremely accomodating. We are having my shower there this Saturday and they just threw in a bunch of extra stuff, and are OK with us not meeting the minimum. Great food too.

Try Pompei in West Hempstead or Peppercorn's in Hicksville. I had engagement party at Pompei & Rehersal Dinner at Peppercorn's both were great!

Re: Restaurant suggestions in Nassau
Love SERGIO's in Massapequa. Just called for reservations for our anniversary this week.
If you don't mind sharing a room I had my dad's 60th at Pomadorino's in Seaford. Great location for all and the food is great! Good Luck!

Re: Restaurant suggestions in Nassau
Hemingways in Wantagh. You could probably have the upstairs all to yourselves. It's not a private room but away from the main dining room.
