Restaurant.com
Has anyone shopped here? I feel like there is a catch to every gift...like you must spend a certain amount..is it tacky to give a gift like that?

Re: Restaurant.com
I wouldnt give it as a gift as a replacement for a "real" gift card. Not only do you have to spend a certain amount, but it excludes alcohol (and may have other exclusions) and can't be used towards a tip, like a real giftcard can.
ETA: We buy them all the time for ourselves though!

Re: Restaurant.com
You can get actual GC's for half price for several places by going to websites for walkradio, BLI, 1010wins, etc. They all have half price deals and send you an actual GC.

Re: Restaurant.com
We use restaurant.com for ourselves all the time. I wouldn't use it as a gift for someone though.
There are a lot of exclusions, and each restaurant is different. Some have a minimum purchase or minimum 2 entrees, some exclude alcohol, some can't be used on the weekends.
We found some great restaurants this way though.

Re: Restaurant.com
In addition to what the PPs said, some restaurants will back out of the program and that GC will be useless. You can exchange it for another on their site, but it's tacky when you have to go to someone you gave it to as a gift and tell them you need to exchange it for another restaurant.

Re: Restaurant.com
I bought it for my parents because I know they already use the site. I wouldn't do it for someone who has never heard of it before.
