Restaurants near Madison Square Garden?
We are taking our oldest son, 18 yo, to the city on Thursday to see Bon Jovi. We wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before the concert. Does anyone have any recommendations? Normally I would venture out of the MSG area, but time is an issue. TIA

Cafe 31! Right next to the garden on 31st between 7th and 8th. The food is amazing and they are priced so reasonably. We've had just about everything there from the burgers, to the steaks, to the pasta specials, and everything is always fantastic. If it is your thing, try the crab cake! My favorite!

There is also Statler Grill, its new and next to the Hotel Pennsylvania.
Pig N Whistle is also new in the hood and its on 36th and 7th.
Stout is MOBBED before events at MSG so I thought you might want some other options...
There also another bar right next to Stout but they just changed the name and I can't remember it right now...

Agreed. If you want something more along the lines of a steakhouse, I enjoy Nick & Stef's.

I agree about Tir na nog - it's a family friendly restaurant and it's right across the street from Madison Square Garden. I bring my 3 pre-teens there often; the best part is they offer kids' meals, which means the kids only cost $10 or less, while I still get to enjoy first-class food and drink. It's perfect for shows at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, as it is literally right across the street.
