restaurants near xmas tree in city with this criteria
- not too $$
- not too stuffy
- casual atmosphere (don't have to dress to the nines)
- romantic, maybe even fun!
- no seafood

There's del friscos and AJ maxwells. Both are great steakhouses. I'm not sure what you consider to be pricey though. The only casual place I can think of with that criteria around there is Benihana. U can totally be casual at any place by sitting at the bar instead of a table. i used to hate and refuse to dine at the bar, now I LOVE it. You get to be close to the person you're with and usually interacting with the bartender has its own benefits. It can turn into a wine tasting event before u know it lol

We ate at Connolley's last week when we went to the tree - its basically a pub, but the food was good. Don't think I 'd really call it romantic, but they do have live music some nights, which is fun.

We ate at Il Gattopardo 2 weeks ago. It was about 4 blocks from the tree and the food was excellent!

Was just about to say this! I'd def go here. The food is really good and it's a nice casual place. It's on 6th and 52nd.
