resume professionals
Has anyone hired a resume professional? If so, did you see an increase in the number of interested employers? Or did interest levels stay the same?
I see that they can be on the pricey side..wondering if it's worth it.
TIA

Re: resume professionals
I considered it, but then I started hearing that especially with resumes going through online systems now, there are generally programs set up to scan for keywords, so you would still need to tailor your resume anyway to each job listing you are applying for.
I suspect this is why I never got calls back on resumes I frequently submitted.
For my current job, it's the computer generated system but I had the added bonus of knowing my new boss and the person who was retiring whose role I now have ;).
It also kind of rubs me the wrong way that people who may already be out of work or in a job they hate, would have to shell out lots of dollars to someone to re-write their resume and they are not even guaranteed to get a job they want that way, KWIM?
I know people want to make a living doing this, but there are also plenty of people out there willing to help re-work a resume for free or hand in your resume for you to their employer ;).

Try using your local library. They usually have job counseling and resume services. I know that Freeport library has it and the lady who does it is wonderful. Good luck!

Re: resume professionals
I guess it depends on the industry but I've assisted people in accounting and finance with their resumes and have seen great results. I head recruiting and interviewing for my firm for a number of years so I saw so many resumes that I knew what to look for. Anything I can help with (I love doing this btw)?
