Re: Retail work and pregnancy...
I worked all through my pregnancy in retail until my eight month and it was fine. You need to be active so you should be fine.

Sounds like a good idea - that's why I got a p/t job, to get out of the house and stop obsessing over this pregnancy (or IVF when I actually got the job). Just try to make it so you work no more than what you are comfortable with.

Re: Retail work and pregnancy...
I worked in retail for 5 years in college and the holidays were BRUTAL!! Long hours, on your feet the whole time, insane customers, etc. Then again, I worked in the ladies' shoes department at a major department store, so you can imagine!
If it were me I would not do it...in fact, I get a tic just remembering the holiday season there!
Just my 2 cents!

Definitely do it. Your not having any complications, right? It's great for the extra money and you will probably get a discount. Just remember wear comfortable shoes.
My sister works in retail and worked up until her due date. Towards the end I could see it being a problem, but not in the second trimester.

It would be a great way to get out of the house and a discount at stores this holiday. I say, if you are up for it - go for it! Just remember to take it easy, NO LIFTING what-so-ever, drink lots of water and take breaks of you need to. Do what you can, but remember who comes first!

Nic, My friend looked into a p/t job and has education background (with a 8 month old) and found a mommy and me class. For an hr or two and gets paid like a GOOD amt per hr!
