Retractable awnings
Danielle and I are looking to get a retractable awning put over our deck.
Just looking for a recommendation for a company that supplies the awnings and does installations. Thanks, Scott

Re: Retractable awnings
I have noticed a few on Ebay. You would have to install it yourself, but they were going for about $1300. From what I hear these awnings are expensive and it doesn't seem like a hard DIY job.

Re: Retractable awnings
We looked into this last year pretty extensively. We found rollupawnings.com to have a good quality product. Sunsetter is very popular because of their low cost but you get what you pay for.
We plan to revisit this soon. They are expensive. Quality units cost between $2000-$3000 depending on the options you select.

Re: Retractable awnings
My parents got one last summer - I will ask who they used and let you know.

I know they are expensive. I got one price for $3000 for a manual one and $3500 for a powered one. Thats crazy Scott

Exactly! This is the reason we stopped our pursuit last year. We're still not sure what we'll do but we need to do something because the non-retractable wood awning we have now is falling apart.
Here are a few other sites to check..
nuimageawnings.com
sunsetter.com
retractableawnings.com
awningstar.com
try-tech.com - this is interesting if you consider installing a non-retractable awning.

Yes, they are very expensive!! My dad runs the rollupawnings in west hempstead. I can't believe how much they are.

I believe awningstar is on Sunrise Hwy in Massapequa. Check the site for locations.

So what did you decide? We need to make a decision as well.

The quotes we got so far are high. One of the options we are looking into is ordering from a company and having the contractor we use install it.
