Retrieval was today..(transfer done!)
..and I am so sore!
They ended up getting 42 eggs which is a crazy high number, but I had a lot at my last retrieval as well.
The thing I'm worried about is that the doctor said we may freeze them and do a transfer next cycle because they're worried about hyper stimulation. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I was really hoping for a fresh cycle because my 2 frozen cycles didn't work (1 BFN and 1 CP) but my first fresh did.
Any insight or advice would be really appreciated!
Update 1/20: Fertility report is in and we have 27 embryos.
Update 1/24: The doctor saw me before my transfer for a sonogram and said that there was very little fluid in my abdomen so I was OK'd for transfer. We transferred one grade AA day 5 hatching blastocyst..let's hope this one sticks!

Retrieval was today..
42 is an amazing number! Looking back at my fresh cycles I wish i froze all of mine and did the transfer the following cycle. I believe I overstimed but day of my transfer they said I was fine. None of those embryos took on the fresh but they did off the frozen. I would wait until next cycle.

Re: Retrieval was today..
My daughter was a frostie! With such a high number I think your best bet is to wait and then do a frozen embryo trasnfer. OHSS usually happens after retrieval and if you get pregnant it can worsen and send you to the hospital. As much as you want to do a fresh cycle- listen to the doctor ! Good luck! It will be worth it!!

Re: Retrieval was today..
Congrats on your retrieval. That's an amazing #. From what I've learned I would wait this cycle and do a frozen. With 42 eggs you definitely have a good chance of hyper stimulation.

Retrieval was today..
That's an amazing number. I had no idea you were cycling.
Regarding the freezing, I will say a friend in CA in her late 30s mind you, did 3 fresh Ivfs. Bfn all of them. She changed drs who only freezes after retrieval and transfers later. He says your body goes through way too much with stims, retrieval, etc that he gives your body a chance to relax. Well that one worked for her.
Best of luck

Re: Retrieval was today..
Thank you all so much for your kind words and advice. I spoke to the nurse today and she said that they are going to leave the decision up to me, if I feel good Saturday than I will have a 5dt.
I'm still very sore and uncomfortable today so I'm thinking we will most likely wait another cycle before transferring.

That's a whole lot of embryos! You could do FETs for the next year from this one cycle. Hoping for lots of success whether you transfer this cycle or next. See how you feel and go with your gut. Good luck!!

Thank you for all your advice, prayers and babydust!
I actually had my transfer on Saturday so now I'm stuck in the 2WW..really hoping this one sticks!!!!
ETA: We had 11 embryos frozen on day 5 and another 7 were frozen on day 6..so 18 frosties all together.
