Of course the media loves to twist things around, but how many opportunities must we miss?
No need for the joining of the military comment......
What's wrong with joining the military? If you truely feel like your hands are tied doing something like that might be a great thing for you, to really be part of the fight.
You damned Clinton and I didn't tell you to run for President, it's kinda rude, but nevermind...
I don't feel like my hands are tied, nor did I post that I could make things better with my own rules. Also pretty much everyone can easily join the military not really the same for the President.

OK all Presidents suck a$$...that doesn't mean we should stoop to the same level as terrorists...if we did I am sure you wouldn't like the type of country we would become!

what can she change by joining the military?
I don't know personally, could be numerous things could be nothing, but I think all of our Men and Women make a huge difference even when they have to follow rules of enagement.

So I can just drop everything and join the military? It's just that easy? OK
My point is that this is a forum where we are allowed to speak our opinion without someone telling us to get out there on the front lines (any cause) just because we disagree.......So I guess I can't just vent my anger because I don't agree (and a whole bunch others as well) with the way the government is handling this war?
Now I know.

the men and women that fight for this country deserve a government that will do what it takes to get the job done. not to say the soldiers themselves aren't doing their job, because they are. they put their lives on the line every single day they're in combat. and they were ready, willing, and able to go in and get BL, but because the SUITS that are "in charge" couldn't make that decision, we missed several opportunities to get the Ba$tard...and WE suffered on our own turf as a result.

No you can but the "wording" you used was VERY WRONG
You can say what you want and people can disagree with you.

Taliban insurgents don't give a rats azz about any rules of engagement. And IMO Those 'rules' should have been thrown out back in the early 90's when we f*cked up all the other opportunities to get Bin Laden!

It was an article about a air fighter (military) that didn't bomb people.. and then you said Maybe we get what we deserve.
All she did was tell you if you really don't like it you can help make a difference. Do you get offended by the commercials for the army on tv

First off I wasen't saying any of that, don't put words in my mouth. I never put you should get on the "front lines" heck they don't even let women on the front lines. I wasen't telling you to join up because we disagree, was just offering a suggestion on your opinion. You have to realize on a message board not everyone is going to agree with you as well. I am not angry at all. Basically all I am saying is it is hard to truely understand the war and comment on it without being a part of it and just going off the media (since you did post a news article). The powers that be and the armed forces have done alot and no, I don't think we deserve it.
And lastly it actually is very easy to drop everything and join the military.
Sorry your angry with me.

Re: Reworded: Sometimes I wonder when we will change our war agreements and stick up for ourselves
If we're fighting a war of ideals, then we can't abandon our ideals in the middle of a fight.
if we're saying we're not terrorists, we're good people, then we can't act like terrorists.
We can't "sink to their level"

We got blasted for breaking the rules of the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War. If we had bombed that funeral and broken the Rules of Engagement - there would have been just as much in the news about that. You can't win with the press.
Indeed, plus who knows what retaliation may have ensued. Not to say that we should fear our own actions, but something like that is not typical of what we consider a proper war action.
