Rice Cooker?
Anybody have one? Do you use it? Does it make the rice fluffy??
I'm debating whether I should buy one b/c boiled rice s*u*c*k*s. (Well, the 10 minute rice does anyway. )
I want my rice to taste like the Japanese/Chinese restaurants!

Re: Rice Cooker?
I love rice, but I'm too impatient for the rice cooker thingy! My sister has one and likes it, though.

Re: Rice Cooker?
I would rather cook rice on the stove. I had rice from a cooker and to me it tasted too starchy!

Re: Rice Cooker?
I will ONLY use a rice cooker. My hispanic stepmom turned me on to it. It's so easy to make rice!

Re: Rice Cooker?
I never cook rice on the stove anymore - I love my rice cooker! The reasons I love it is that I don't have to watch it, I throw everything in, flip the switch and it takes care of itself. And if it is done before the rest of the meal, it changes to the warm setting and stays hot.
The 10 minute rice and the boil in bag rice never tastes as good as regular rice, IMO. You can also experiment with different types of rice and in place of water, sometimes I put chicken broth in to give the rice a little more flavor.

Re: Rice Cooker?
We have one, DH loves it, but I don't use it. I think it's quicker and easier to do it on the stove.

I agree.
I love my rice cooker and only make rice in it. It never sticks or burns on the bottom.
I have the hello kitty rice cooker (no, i'm not kidding) and it works really well.
