Right turn from left lane
Is this a new trend?
Since Rachel posted about traffic circles I felt the need to bring it up.

Not sure, but if that's a new trend, then another one must be turning left AROUND someone who has their blinker on to make a left because you think they are taking too long. This has happened to me twice and I just can't believe someone would actually go around me on the left side, into oncoming traffic because I am too slow.

I think I had that happen too tonight. Except it was a right. Two people coming off the Wantagh on OCR and one guy went around the other on the right to make the right because the guy wasn't going yet.
I almost plowed into both of them.
The right from the left lane happened on the way to OCR.

No - the new trend is to exit an aisle in a parking lot and turn LEFT into a new aisle from the WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD, cutting off the person going straight at the end of the aisle.
And then giving the driver with the right of way a dirty look because they dared to honk at you

oooooo..that's a good one. I didn't see that trend coming.
I like the I will sit in your blind spot while you are signaling to move over for 1/2 mile trend.

I had one that left me fuming for a long while tonight. I was driving down Wellwood Avenue. I put my directional on to parallel park in a spot. I slow to a stop and can't park because some AZZHOLE was RIGHT on my butt. Could have taken me mere seconds, but I took my sweet azz time getting into the spot.

Yup on our way home from the airport, 2 straight lanes and 1 turn lane, the guy goes from the turn lane into the lane next to it, then left turns from the left lane instead of the turn lanes.

Unless both lanes are marked for a right turn this INFURIATES me. Why? Because I got my new CRV in June and I had the car for 10 days and some jerk made a right from the left lane hit me and kept going!  I was going straight so I couldn't get his license plate

There seems to be a trend of people making Uturns from the right hand left turning lane. That makes no sense.... when there are 2 left turning lanes, the one on the left is for uturns, and the one on the right is for making the left onto the street... idiots making uturns INTO the cars already making uturns...

Some iddiot hit my car doing this! I was waiting to go and as soon as I had room to go, so did this other guy who decided he was going to go around me and he hit right into the side of my car

I think the general trend is for most people to do whatever the hell they want. It doesn't matter if it's legal, dangerous, discourteous, etc. As long as they get there in one piece, that's all that counts.
Everyone else just has to stay out of their way and hope to get to their destination alive.

You hit the nail on the head. Many drivers are just oblivious to the fact that there ARE others on the road and will just do whatever they need to do to get to where they're going...rules be damned

This happened to me not so long ago. Some guy also turned into a one way street tonight--I was sitting at a light and so was another car, both of us in separate lanes, no other space. Wouldn't you think that would tip him off?

I hate this as well as when people make wide right turns and swing out
left first, as if they are driving a tractor trailer

That pretty much sums it up.
I was driving on LIE last Saturday morning at 8:30am... not that much traffic right? Minding my own business, driving at the speed limit in the right lane.
An old guy in a big SUV comes out of nowhere and blinks his lights and tailgates me to go faster.
WTH!!! there was a car passing me on the left and the other left lane was empty.
The guy passes me and yells at me. Yes, yells at me. Because I was driving at the posted speed limit. What gets me is that he decided to pass the car in the center lane from the right lane where I was. While the left lane was completely opened. As he yelled... I showed him 2 "5" with my hands to remind him the speed limit was 55. The guy was completely irrate as he passed me.

With all of the state/county's financial problems, why not crack down on unsafe driving and make the fines enough to pay for the cops to do it and to make it profitable?

driving to work Monday morning I had a jerk off pass me on a 2 lane double line busy road (i was doing 35 in a 30, there was a car in front of me) then almost side swipe me b/c a car was coming the other way. He did the same thing to 2 cars in front of me. I got his license plate, but what could I do? I was sooooo mad.

The other day I was in the right lane. To my right was a shopping center but I wasn't turning in. The guy behind me kept honking but I couldn't go anywhere! The light was red and I wasn't turning into the parking lot!! The d0uche went around me when the light turned green and then slammed on his brakes so that I would rear end him. Good thing I kept my distance. What an azz!!!

Its funny you posted this today.... I was in the left lane today and the j erk made a left turn from the right lane.. needless to say he hit me... and now my car is in the collision center getting fixed... 
FOLLOW THE TRAFFIC RULES PEOPLE!!! vent over...
