Ring bearer questions... Toddler!
My boys are in my SIL's wedding in April. The time is a drop past their bedtime, which is fine as long as their stimulated they'll be ok. Not worried about that, but I am worried about my toddler going down. I know if he doesn't the bride and groom understand, but I'd just love to try and see if there's any good advise I can get. I know my 3.5 yr old will be ok. He understands more. Then again we'll see the day of. My 19 month old is insane. Hates to be held too long, always curious and tryi to run off or look at everything, touch everything, move or throw the stuff away, etc He can't sit still or follow directions. Even in library class or other classes he's the one roaming around the room doing his own thing instead of what the class is doing. It's his personality. My 3 yr old was never like this. We re thinking DH would carry him down the ailsle, but I could see him possibly screaming bc he'll want to go down and do it himself. At least we will have a babysitter waiting in the bridal suite so he can stay there during the ceremony. I'm the MOH so can't be with him either. Advise or stories you can tell of your ring bearer? I always see videos of flower girls or little boys walking down nicely. Nope.l. Not sure about my DS. Lol

Can your boys walk down together? I would have them practice at home for a week or so prior to the wedding. Explaining how important their job is. Is it possible to bring them to the ceremony space before the the wedding?
On the day of Just go with the flow and hope for the best. They are little guys and you never know how they will react. As long as the bride is understanding it will be fine.

Ring bearer questions... Toddler!
For my Wedding he had the flower girl walk down with her dad. It worked great since she was comfortable with him.
My DS is in a wedding in Aug and he will be 20 months. He is the kind of kid that you never know what you are going to get. He could run down the aisle or he could freeze and cry. My DH and I are both in the wedding so my DH will be there to walk him down if need be. Also we are not having him be involved in any pictures or anything before so that he is in a better mood.

Re: Ring bearer questions... Toddler!
My nephew turned 2 1 month before my wedding and never sat still either, still doesn't at 6 hahaha.
His mom was my MOH. His dad was part of the bridal party as well. His dad sat at the end of the pew in church and My sister handed him the pillow and said bring this pizza to Daddy. It was the cutest thing ever. Her grabbed the pillow and ran like lightening down the isle. But he did it all by himself. He ran into his dad's arms and never looked back. I didn't see it until the video but it was so cute.
I would have someone, your dh? maybe, a target for him to find.
Oh..we let the bridal party go first, then he went then my sister. This way he was by his mom for a good part of the time. Lollipops also helped him after for pictures. Maybe have a lollipop or something they don't normally get waiting and say " go get _____ from daddy or whomever is there waiting

Ring bearer questions... Toddler!
DS was 20 months when he was ring bearer at my brothers wedding. DH stayed in the back of the aisle with him until it was his turn and I was up at the front of the aisle holding his favorite toy for him to come get. He got a little distracted when he saw his godmother taking pictures in the aisle but did make it down the aisle ok and the toy was a big incentive to get him down there.

Re: Ring bearer questions... Toddler!
I'd suggest your boys walking together, of have the little guy follow his big brother -
Sean wouldn't walk at my sister's wedding b/c he was alone, so I had to carry him. During the rehearsal he strutted down like he owned the place, but there were 25 people as opposed to 225
At my BIL's wedding a few months later he marched down that aisle b/c he had the bride's 5 year old nephew to follow like a 'big boy' ......

Re: Ring bearer questions... Toddler!
My DS was 19 months when he was one and he did fantastic! Even stopped to pose for the camera at the end. I was a bridesmaid so I was at the front waiting for him. We had suckers up front in case we needed to bribe him, but we didn't need to. But the sucker kept him quiet and seated nicely during the ceremony.
