Ring Question.

Have any of your rings split in the back?

On the Palm Side of your hand.

I'm asking because this just happened to my e-ring. I've only had this one for 5 and a half months (I lost my engagement ring diamond and they had to replace the entire thing Chat Icon ).

Re: Ring Question.

The ring actually broke?!?!

Oh no! Chat Icon That's not normal, especially after 5.5 months! I would take it right back to the place you bought it.

Re: Ring Question.

I have had gold rings do this but only years and years after wearing them every single day. I agree--go back to the jeweler

I didn't think it was common. This is the third time that I've had a problem.

The first time, before I got married, the diamond fell out of the setting. We found it immediately and had it fixed.

The second time, after I was married almost a year, the diamond fell out and was never recovered. I was absolutely devestated. It was insured so I was able to get it replaced.

Now this third time, I was taking the ring off before bed (which I do now because of the first and second times - I'm not taking any chances) and felt something weird. Son of a b!tch.

Re: Ring Question.

Yes, that happened to my wedding band (which is an insert) a couple months after we got married. I was using alot of bleach at the time and blamed that. The jewerly store fixed it right away for me.

Re: Ring Question.

If your ring was stretched out to fit your finger then it happens, and is more common than you think.

However, if it was custom made to fit you, then it's not common and shouldn't happen.

Either way, take it to the jewler. They can fix it for you.

Yes, it happened to me a few years ago. My engagement ring band split in half in the back. DH was so upset/pizzed. I took it to a different jeweler and **knock on wood** all has been great since.

Re: Ring Question.

I had the shank on my ring made thicker/heavier so that wouldn't happen. It just looked so thin to begin with. Bring it back to the jeweler and have them make it thicker.
