R.I.P.
i am so sad to report but we ahve had a loss.
i feel very bad because i have hardly ever mentioned him, but, when we found my cat saffy in the woods we found him with his brother, Runt.
Saffy became my cat and Runt was my little sisters.
Runt was a beautiful cat with a great personality. he loved my sister more than anything and also loved all other animals. (his fellow cat siblings, and dog siblings as well as his nieces and nephew---my dogs)
The poor thing was found today, all of 5.5 years old.....
frozen to death in our broken pool.
my mom let him out last night as always but he never came back. htey thought it was odd, but didnt think TOO much of it.
well, this afternoon my dad found Runt dead at the bottom of the pool.
at first we thought he drowned, but since the pool was broken with only 5 inches of water in it i personally think more that he froze to death.
im not sure, but with the water being so low i know he could not have jumped out.
he must have died a slow horrible death and i feel so horrible for him.
my dad feels guilty for not fixing the pool sooner and we all cant believe this has happened.
i have not had a break from crying today., but my little sister (she is 12) is even more of a mess. she told my mom she feels like she would if her or my dad has died and she feels bad she didnt sense something was wrong and that she couldnt help him.
Runt was an amazing animal who loved all and he did not deserve to die as he did.
Please keep him (and my sister) in your thoughts today and give all of your animals a big hug and kiss.
RIP Runt. we miss you.

thank you everyone.
we have a mini update:
our neighbor had heard him meowing (differently) for about an hour. and he heard our other cat too.
so we think he couldnt get out and froze after an hour.

yeah that is what hurts the most. is that we could have helped him but no one knew. he just died a horrible death and he was honestly SUCH a good cat i just feel so bad.
my mom realized after the fact (once she heard that our neighbor heard him screaming) that the other cat was acting differently. my mom thought the other one, Cobey was acting weird, but didnt think he was trying to warn her or anything.
i know he's in a better place now, i just wish he didnt ahve to suffer like he did.

I am so so so sorry to hear this. I dont believe Runt froze to death, I believe he did in fact drown. You can drown in very little water. I pray for you and your family. I am sure it was quick.

who knows. all we know is that he was screaming for alittle over an hour and then it just stopped.
