roast chicken question
where is the best place to put the meat thermometer in the chicken? i always forget if its the leg or the breast..thanks

I test the breast for 160 then I test the thigh (away from the bone) for 180

I test the breast for 165. The dark meat will cook longer so If I'm making chicken parts which I usually do for that reason, I take the breasts out of the oven and let the dark meat cook for another 10 minutes or so. Both temps should be around 160-165. Put the thermometer in the thigh away from a bone.
