Rob is a SAHD... and it's killing me!

So today is Rob's first official day as a SAHD. Noah is finished with pre-K, so he has him all day. Robbie has 2 weeks left of the school year, so Rob is responsible for making sure the child gets out to the bus and is ready for school, etc..

I am a nice woman. I got up super early and created a reminder list for Rob because he doesn't usually do this and I wanted to give him a cheat sheet. I also packed Robbie's snack & his lunch and put it in the refridgerator, I made sure his folder and Parent Teacher book were in his backpack, I wrote a note for the bus driver because Robbie will not be at after care today, I straightened the play room because he has a play date after school and I laid out the shorts and shirts for BOTH kids. Noah was up by 6:30 - but I didn't wake up my husband, I just gave noah his yogurt and fruit and snuggled him until Rob got up. Then I made tea and a farmer's scramble for my husband. Then Robbie got up and I made him breakfast and dressed both the kids. I told Rob I had to leave - and gave everyone a kiss goodbye. Rob was about to let them watch television and I reminded him that Robbie wasn't allowed to watch TV until he made his bed and was ready to walk out the door at a second's notice.

Robbie had already made his bed - but jumped up to get his socks and shoes on. Well - guess what I didn't lay out? Socks. So Robbie is frantic. He wants to watch television but knows it isn't happening until he gets his socks on. He asks his father to help him get a matching pair. Rob is sitting in his chair and says "Jeannie - can you get him socks - I mean the sock drawer is a wreck because you are too lazy to match up their socks."

It is a good thing that I had the strength and the patience to walk out the door before I followed my initial impulse because my darling husband would be walking around with a drawer full of socks sticking out his rear if I wasn't so restrained.

Tomorrow - I'm sneaking out of the house before anyone is up!

WOW you are a good wife, you did so much for him.

I agree tomorrow, do nothing and let him see what it's like to really be a SAHD.

WOW!!! You sure did alot before going to work all day! If that were me, DH would have the whole drawer full of socks dumped over his head!

Wow, glad you were able to restrain yourself!

I cannot believe all that you accomplish in the morning! Especially making DH's breakfast as well! Kudos to you!

It always amazed me how the instructions are written down, kids are dressed, breakfast is made, they've eaten it....and yet I get a call from the school nurse asking why my son was late again. um....AGAIN?

Wow, I would've told him - "well, honey - that could be your first project!"

Tomorrow - definelty get out before anyone is up!!!
