Robitussin and Mucinex
Hi Ladies,
Has anyone tried taking Robitussin and/or Mucinex (you would start taking this at day 8 until you ovulate) which is supposed to help your cervical mucas be runnier. Sorry for all the info. My friend and I plan to try this method this month and we would like to know if it works. Or if anyone as any other suggestions.
Thanks,

I tried it back in the spring - I was not consistent with it, but my dr even said that it has studied that Robitussin does thin out the mucus; you just need to get the plain one, not the DM or anything - I believe the only ingredient should be Guafesin (sp). Good luck!!

Re: Robitussin and Mucinex
I bought some when we were TTC, I did take it the month I got my BFP, but I wasn't consistent with it so I'm not sure if it helped or not.

Re: Robitussin and Mucinex
I used Robitussin for two months. The first month I was not consistant. The second month I got pregnant but we also used pre-seed that month. I tried every trick in the book and well it worked. But I can;t be sure which it was or a combination of all. But I took the recommended dose of Robitussin 3x a day. I started when the OPK was almost +. That was 2 days before O and continued till my temp spike. Things definitly improved down there. good luck

Re: Robitussin and Mucinex
Thanks for your feedback ladies. I was told to start taking Robitussin day 8 and stop taking it the day after ovulation. Does that sound about right?
Good luck to us all. This month could be our month. Fingers and toes are crossed.

Re: Robitussin and Mucinex
I tried Mucinex and it didn't really do anything for me. I found Preseed to work.

What is Preseed? I've never heard of it. Do you have to have a doctor prescribe it to you?

Preseed is a sperm friendly lube. It is supposed to keep the sperm happy and alive longer. This way they have more time to sit around and wait to meet the egg
