Have to add... I love Jackie!! She was awesome. Funny how's she's completely opposite on the Big Bang.
Hope they tell us more what happened with everyone. What was Darlene doing in Chicago, etc.
LOVE DAN TOO! He's such an amazing actor and was so great last night!

Yes!!!
I felt like Becky was a little rusty some scenes in the first episode (understandably so!), but by episode 2 she's back to being her selfish self! Lol. I love that Darlene is filling Roseanne's original role of caretaker now, when she told Harris "I don't have time to come to your school and pretend I get you adequate medical care" omg that was classic Roseanne!  The jokes and the throwbacks were on point! And I'm loving seeing Dan and Roseanne in the role of grandparents now  if it's possible I think I may love this reboot even more than the original because of the history and throwbacks this time around!

I loved it too!! Super confused at first though. Thought I missed something. Are Darlene's kids with David, or did they break up before she had the kids? How did Mark die? Where is Andy and Jerry??? And who is DJ's wife and is his kid adopted? Do they all live in that house????? So confusing!!!!

No, I think they are just ignoring the last season completely. It's as if it didn't happen.
So I guess that is why Becky never had a baby (she was pregnant the last season no?)

No, the dream was that he survived the heart attack and they won the lotto- the last episode of the series revealed that he had actually died of the heart attack and him surviving and them winning the lotto was all a figment of Roseanne's imagination to cope with it.

If you saw the commercial where they were in bed and she screamed at him to wake up....and she said "I thought you were dead" and he replied "why does everyone think I'm dead"...she made another comment about him smiling at it looked like he moved on. And basically that was it.

It was never a dream sequence, they wrote off the last season and the silly Lottery win story line by saying it was all made up and part of Roseann'es book that she always wanted to write. Dan DID die, Roseanne wrote the book (where she changed history and won the lottery) as a way to cope with the loss of Dan and her grief.
They are just pretending Dan didn't die now in the reboot which makes sense, it would feel so weird without Dan!!

They played it off like his death was also part of her book's storyline. Dan was rummaging around the garage and came across her manuscript and made a joke that it could've been a best seller if she hadn't killed off the best character.

Obvious spoilers ahead...
Darlene was pregnant with Harris and had the baby at the end of the original series. She is David's kid and Darlene and David got married before she was born. In the reboot they didn’t mention David but to say that Darlene currently has no partner. I know David makes an appearance eventually so I guess maybe they are separated or divorced? They haven't explained Mark's death yet only to say Becky is widowed. They haven't mentioned Andy. Jerry is off on a fishing boat, I'm guessing the boat Dan had been working on throughout the whole original series. DJ is married to Gina, the little girl he wouldn't kiss in the school play and they're both in the military. She's still in Syria but he returned home recently. The little girl is his biological daughter with Gina. Only Darlene and her kids live with Dan and Roseanne.

I've always said BBT was like a mini Roseanne reunion 
Also, I never knew this until recently but The Middle is strongly influenced by Roseanne, same original writers and they brought the afghan back in an homage to Roseanne. It's cool that they brought back Roseanne as The Middle is ending.

Also, they're playing around with the original storyline a bit. Harris was born when the original series was ending. That would make her 21 now. But they're making her character a high school student now probably because it's easier to create storylines. Jerry and Harris originally aren’t too far apart in age, so depending how old they're making Harris (they didn't really say yet) Jerry should probably still be a high school student too but they have him off on a fishing boat. They probably created a slightly larger age gap between them.

Same here lol I really hope they stick to the original storylines now that they have a second chance instead of dropping acid and documenting it in their script writing again like last time lol

Absolutely loved the show. Especially,
1) Darlene's son is named after Mark.
2) DJ ends up with Gina (the girl he didn't want to kiss).
3) Both "Beckys" have a spot on the show
4) The ugly white chicken shirt that everyone wore is back.
Now, if only, the characters of Beverly, Ed, Crystal and Lonnie made their way into the script!

Darlene named her son Mark as a tribute to Mark who died - remember that it's also David's son and David was Mark's brother.
I heard an interview with Roseanne and they said if they have a season 2 then they'll probably bring back the other people.

Becky's husband Mark died (also the actor in real life) so Darlene's son is named after him.
I heard that if it does well they will bring back Jackie's son Andy and Roseanne's younger son Jerry.
