roseola-rash came yesterday? are we still homebound? added pics
I would not take him to playgroups or anything...but can we start to get out?
fever has been gone for 2 days now.
DH wanted us to go to the fair tonight(its his only night off)
I have been trapped at home since Saturday night

My ped said that once the rash comes it's not contagious anymore, so I'm pretty sure you can go out.

Julia had roseola and my Dr said it wasn't contagious......
Her rash only lasted a day after her fever broke. I was nervous of getting it since I'm preggo, but my dr said I can't get it so not to worry.

I think he might have meant that because only kids under the age of three get it, you were safe? I could be totally wrong though.

Poor josh
Gianna has had roseola TWICE this past month, the 2nd rash was worse than the 1st.
My ped told us a day after the rash appears he is less likely to be contagious, but just be careful with you guys. Adults have immunity to this disease most of the time and the virus can live in your saliva without symptoms, so be sure to wash your hands alot and try not to give wet kisses for a little bit until he is 100% better.

I think you can go out now, but I would still limit his activity. Christopher has it too right now. His rash broke out on Tuesday night and even though his fever is gone he's still really tired and mushy. Hope Josh feels better soon!

No. From what I read once symptoms occur you are not contagious. We were away on a weekend trip. DD had roseola and we had no idea. She was around 12 other kids. Not a single one got it.
