Rough night

So I came home from dinner last night at there was a message on my cell at 8:30pm from my ob/gyn. Immediately my heart jumped - I mean, they wouldn't call at 8:30pm unless it was serious, right?

So I listened to the message and it was the nurse. And all she says is, this is the nurse, please call as soon as you can, and tell the receptionist you are returning a call from the nurse.

Needless to say I didn't sleep AT ALL last night. Between worrying, the dog jumping on the bed, Alex waking up 4 times crying in the night, I got NO sleep.

I spent the whole morning trying to get through to find out what the issue is, and finally at 9am, talk to the nurse.

And you know what she tells me? Ohhh, it was just a courtesy call to remind you to schedule the 2nd part of your sequential screening for February 11th.

Gee, thanks, but you think you could have left a message saying that???????????????????????????????????????????????? Chat Icon Chat Icon

OH MY GOD - are you serious??????????????

I am so sorry!!!!!! I would've reacted the same exact way... HOW DARE THEY?!?!?!

Maybe next time you are there, ask them if there is something you can sign so that they CAN leave you messages at home. I know i had to sign something to make that be okay...

Re: Rough night

Glad it was nothing serious. But seriously you should never leave a message like that on a pregnant women's machine. Don't they know we worry!

This is what makes it worse: I ALREADY SIGNED THAT DAMN SHEET GIVING PERMISSION TO LEAVE MESSAGES!!! So when they didn't leave a message about why they were calling, I was REALLY left worrying!

Re: Rough night

Wow- that's just wrong.

I think nurses have a way of giving you heart attacks. The nurses at the RE's office always sound like they are about to give me devastating news when they call me.Chat Icon Chat Icon

OMG that is horrible. They should DEFINITELY have left that on your machine b.c the way that they left it as a nurse she SHOULD have known it would cause undue stress on you. I'm glad it was nothing though. Sorry you had a stressful night for nothing.

Re: Rough night

Honestly, i cannot believe some of these things the drs offices do. i really think all the added stress and nonsensical alarming tests they put us through, made me go into early labor. just dont let it get to u. easier said than done. I KNOW......
glad its all ok

Re: Rough night

WOW!!! I would have "kindly" told her how much it had affected your night. To say call right away for that is pretty ridiculous..especially at 8 pm!! Glad to hear your worries were unnecessary thought!.....

Re: Rough night

That's NOT RIGHT!!! You should let them and your DR know. They shouldn't leave messages on machines like that. AND if they didn't want to leave a detailed message then at least they could have done was say it was nothing serious, just give them a call!!!!

I swear, some of these nurses have NO BUSINESS working in an OB office.
