RP: Am I losing my plug? (TMI BEWARE!!!!!!)

I'm due in 5 days and 10 hours and noticed as of yesterday afternoon that when I wipe there are jelly-like, clear strings of mucus that do not look like the normal discharge I've been having for weeks. (See, told ya TMI)

Sometimes if I'm laying down and get up a small glob comes out. Other than that, I have consistently had pieces as I've wiped all day now.

Could this be my plug???

Yes, it probably is. I was noticing this for like 2 weeks before my due date but just thought it was an increase in discharge. When i went for my 40 week visit the nite before my due date dr. said my mucous plug was gone.

So apparently thats what it was..LOL.

it doesnt necessarily mean labor is coming tomorrow, but it means your body is getting ready!!

Yup,. sounds like it- very exciting! But as PP said - it doesn't mean labor will come on right away - could still be days away.

For some it happens right away, others (like me) it was a week later!

yup! sounds just like how it all started for me. It starts off as stringy and then I lost a few huge globs over the course of 3 days. I saw my OB the day after I started losing it and he told me that I was very soft and 1cm dilated and that I would be going it to labor very soon. He was right! DS was born 3 days later! Good Luck!

yep sounds like it
