RP: Cats & pregnancy...
As long as I'm not scooping or cleaning the box, am I at risk with having my cat around me? He's our baby - he sleeps with us, is always around us - more like a dog than a cat...

Re: RP: Cats & pregnancy...
We have two cat (did have three) - they are inside cats - never, never go outside. DH was really good with cleaning the litter for me.
The cats sleep with us most of the time, they always could come and go as they please.
Since we have been home with the baby, we have slept with the door closed the first few nights but now with getting up to feed, the one cat has been coming in and sleeping near DH - as if he knows to stay away from the baby.
edited to answer your question - no you are not at risk!!!

You are fine. Have DH do the box and keep it somewhere away from where you usually are. Toxoplasmosis is carried in old poop so you don't want to touch it or breathe it in. My cats were always around me and loved on me my entire pregnancy and I have a perfectly healthy daughter.

Phew - thanks ladies - the box is in our bedroom because there is no other place for it - but I'll make sure DH scoops everyday!
