RP from parenting: fisher price swings fire hazard
I was looking into getting the Fisher Price Papasan swing for my DD. I was reading some reviews on Amazon and most were good, but all the ones that were negative claimed that the motor began to smoke and some even caught fire. This item as far as I know has not been recalled.....does anyone know if this issue still exists? Or has anyone had this problem in the past?

omg i was just reading this too. I was thinking of changing from the Zen FP swing to the little lamb but based on the few reviews about fire there is just no way in hell

It looks like it was the FP papisan swing. No prob with the Zen as far as I read....these reviews were from 5 years ago. So I was wondering if anyone had any problems currently with it

I have been reading the reviews of both the Zen and the Little Lamb. The little lamb is the only one that has reviews of fire hazards. You can check it out on amazon.com. Then Zen has no record of it being a fire hazard but also has a lot less reviews.

So which one is everyone getting? I have the Little Lamb swing but have not taken out of the box yet, now I am second guessing myself even though most of the reviews are excellent.

The reviews seem like they are from a long time ago, but now I'm still worried. Maybe they have fixed the problem with the newer models.

yes they are from several years ago...So i was wondering if anyone else had any of these problems. According to the responses from the parenting board, there dont seem to be any currently.

I have the FP papason swing and have had no issues- I adore it actually.
I've also never heard about a fire hazard. If there really WAS a true fire hazard, I'd think there's have been a recall.

I have it too..(well its packed up right now, i have to sell it one day soon but soo not emotionally ready yet! ) and love it! Never had a problem, I would rec it and buy a new one myself tomorrow if I needed it!
