RP from pregnancy NPR: Help me tell my boss I am preggo and not coming back im a baby lol
My whole thing is that with 2 kids its not worth it for me to work full time to make 200 because I will be paying for daycare. Also he only gave me 8 weeks with my first DD, and it wasnt enough time and i want to take a lot longer this time and then maybe work part time and my mom may be able to watch them 2 days a week.
I know he doesnt want part time, because i spoke with him about it with my first DD and he said he couldn't do it. I don't know if it will be different this time or not. The other thing is its a law office with one attorney and me thats it. Im the only staff. So he has to get someone to basically take my place. None of the maternity laws apply since its a small company. He pays my insurance only and not DD's. I dont get paid for maternity leave.
he made this whole big deal a little while back about how he would need 3 months notice to replace me so instead of just getting a temp he would find someone permanent. I think i am only being fair even though i shoudl think about myself!!
help me as to what to say please!! TIA

i worked for a small co when i was preg too. i really felt very cheated when i was preg. no ins for baby, no maternity leave, no fmla.. anyway, i would tell him ur preg, ya know after 3 months or so, tell him u will help him train a temp for while u r gone, make sure u collect your disability compensation for those 6 weeks, then quit. maybe he'll fire u and collect unemployment. i wouldnt dare give let him know u r quitting now, seriously, u get NOTHING from them including matenity pay.... at least get disability then quit or bring up the part time thing again. its the least u deserve. you are in charge......

and i totally agree with being cheated with no maternity, fmla or ins for the baby. Plus for 2 years now he said i would be getting a raise but he claims since my insurance premium went up its like i got a raise. BS
