Re: RP from Pregnancy....in wedding 3.5 months after due
I was in a wedding 4 months PP last year, it was my 1st pg.
What do the dresses look like?
The bride was so kind and let us pick any dress we wanted from bill levkoff but in the same color.
I picked an A line dress, pre pg i wore a 6-8, i ordered a 12. The bust and waist had to be taken in. Always better to take in than let out.
ETA: i gained 50 lbs and lost about 35-40lbs of it by the wedding. gave birth 5/2-wedding was 9/30

Re: RP from Pregnancy....in wedding 3.5 months after due
My SIL was pregnant with twins when it came time to get measured for my wedding (there was no measuring though) The dress shop wanted her to order two sizes up from what she normally would order and she was glad she did b/c it was the "right" size. My wedding was almost 6 months after she gave birth and she did not gain a lot of weight with the pregnancy-her body was just "different"

Re: RP from Pregnancy....in wedding 3.5 months after due
it's so hard to predict where u will gain the most.
How far along are you now? Where has your weight gone?
When you get measured try to predict in the future your widest area and go with that size.
For me with both pg's i gained in my but and thighs the most, i stay kinda small on top and in the waist, but the thighs and butt are the hardest to lose and still are.
So i ordered on the higher side of the hip measurement so i knew i'd have enough room for the big ole booty and thunder thighs.

right now im 16 weeks, so still pretty early and just a bit of a belly so far.....im going to wait until im further along to order so i can see how im gaining, I don't have to order the dress until im in my 3rd trimester. I appreciate all the advice though---it really helps!

Re: RP from Pregnancy....in wedding 3.5 months after due
I had a wedding 6 mos pp. I ordered a size larger then my norm. But I am BFing, and my boobs did not fit into the dress at all. I looked like a dirty hooker.

Re: RP from Pregnancy....in wedding 3.5 months after due
At 11 weeks PP, here are my "issues".
I lost all my PG weight BUT. I still have my little belly pooch although still shrinking a little bit at a time. SO my pre PG clothes are a bit tight around the belly.
Also I am BF. Most of my tops DO NOT fit so keep it in mind if you plan on BF. You may need some adjustments to the dress after you give birth.

I'd say even though you can lose the weight your body proly won't be the same shape (looser and a bit larger) 3.5 months after giving birth (plus you may be at 3 months if the baby comes late.) I'd order one to two sizes larger than you pre-preggo size.
Enjoy helping your friend plan her wedding!

Re: RP from Pregnancy....in wedding 3.5 months after due
I ordered a dress for my SIL's wedding while I was preggo. I am 5 months pp and her wedding is in 2 weeks. I went up 2 sizes because I was sure I'd lose most of the weight, but I was worried about having room for the boobs which got significantly larger. I gained 32 pounds and lost most of it quickly without doing anything or BFing. I had about and extra 8 I had to try and get rid of. At my first fitting a couple weeks ago the dress was ridiculously big on me. Since then, I lost the rest of the weight with diet and exercise...my body isn't exactly the same shape it was, but pretty close. Overall, I'd say it took me 4.5 months to lose it, but if the wedding was sooner and I had more incentive, I think I could have done it faster.
There is usually a cap on alterations, so ordering 2 or 3 sizes bigger really won't make a difference and it'll give you piece of mind. By the time you order you can see how your weight gain is progressing and if you're on track or gaining more and get and idea from that.

id go up one size-- this is what i did-- and it still needs to be taken in-- if you go up too high it may need alot more work and its just not necessary

Re: RP from Pregnancy....in wedding 3.5 months after due
I was just in a wedding Labor Day weekend. I went 2 sizes up from what I measured at 5 mos PG & it had to be taken in, but not that much. I also was not able to workout until only a few weeks before the wedding due to my c-section. (I thought I might have had an adhesion, so we took it easy for a few extra weeks.)
I wore a Bill Levkoff as well, and wore a 2 piece.

Re: RP from Pregnancy....in wedding 3.5 months after due
I was in a wedding 2 months after giving birth to my 2nd and the dress situation was a disaster but that was due to the bridal salon (bunch of morons). I had lost approximately 30 pounds at the time of the wedding. IMHO, you shouldn't go past 2 sizes bigger.

Re: RP from Pregnancy....in wedding 3.5 months after due
It all depends on how you gain, and how you lose. I went to weddings at 2 months pp, and 3 months pp and I was wearing pre-preggo dresses (one was even a bridesmaid dress from a different wedding)
