RP from TTC- I'm writing a letter!!
Ok- now I picked up my issue of US weekly because there is a beaming Trista sutter on the cover with her new baby boy.
Upon reading the article, I see she says and I quote- " EPT sent me a box of 100 tests and I found out I was pregnant with the last one".....
Excuse me? They SENT them to you???? Now don't get me wrong, I watched america's sweethearts get married like everyone else did but I'm SURE they have more than enough $$ with all the promotion they get to be able to buy their own lousy EPT's
While all of us NORMAL people who are TTC have to go out on our own every month and spend $30-50 on EPT / clearblue/ or dollar tree tests....... Where is OUR box of 100 tests???
Sorry for the vent! I just think this is silly......

Kind of silly like when celebs (real celebs) get all of these designer clothes for free while the rest of us can barely afford it.

I think EPT did it for publicity. And I know it is probably frustrating don't really see anything wrong with it.

My brother used to work for a hotel in Manhatten. Normal people paid like $300-$500 a night. But, not Arnold Schwarzenegger he paid less then 1/2 of that. I can remember my brother calling me in shock. He's like no wonder they stay so wealthy. They don't have to spend as much as everyone else.

The bonus of being a celebrity... they get all kinds of free stuff, meanwhile they have $$$$$$.. People see them use this stuff and ordinary people like us go out and buy it b/c of that... These companys are not stupid, they figure we send her free stuff loose the money but end up making twice $$ off us...

I mean I do, I know that companies do this because they know that if the general public sees a celebrity using something that they'll be more likely to run out and buy their brand.
But it just really bothers me. And it wouldn't work if the general public didn't fall for it every time. So it's really not the business' faults so much as the consumers who can't decide for themselves who makes the better product.

I don't mean to be rude, but why would you care? It is the company's perogative to get their name out there and Trista did that for them. Obviously if they sent every woman TTC 100 free tests they would go out of business. Yeah, it su cks having to buy them for yourself while "famous" people get things for free, but it is a marketing ploy and that is it.
Personally, I'd laugh if I got a box with 100 EPTs in them.

Thank you Jennie! Yes and I care because I'm one of these many fools who goes out several times a month to buy several EPT's and the bill does add up. It's just silly that they hand it out to people who at 15 dollars a pop is just a small drop in the bucket. It is just the principle of the whole situation that urks me...

I think your reading way to much into the situation.
We could say it about almost any situation where a celeb gets a free item.

ETA: ok just googled her, I didn't realize she was married in 2003, I guess if you POAS a few times a month since then its doable
