RSofNY
My friend is going to this practice in Sept. She was going to another one for about a year, and felt that they werent helping. They said nothing was wrong with her, but that her husband had low motility. They did about 4 IUI's, but they havent worked. So she wanted to switch doctors.
After reading some things on here, I read that people say not to use RSofNY. Is there a reason why? Thanks!

Re: RSofNY
I went to the Mineola office for months...BAsically it was a horror. The waiting time was up to 2 hours for a simple sono and blood tests on occasion. I rarely saw an actual Dr. NONE of the Dr's ever knew my name . They use sono techs for their sonos even for IVF. They told me my FSH was "fine" when it wasnt, they ignored my husbands morp issues and basically it was just a big watse of my time.
I switched to NSUH -Center for Human reproduction...I LOVE IT there. My DR ( and I see her most of the time) does all my sonos and such. She knows my chart without looking at it as do some of the other dr's I have only seen a few times.
my appointments take 15 minutes or so.
Honestly after seeing what it was like there, I would not in a million years reccomennd RSONY. YES..people get PG there, but to me after 22 or so months of trying, the experience at the clinic means a lot to me as I spend soooo many of my hours there and getting care I KNOW is catered to me individuallly is more important.

Re: RSofNY
the fact alone that my visits now are about 20 minutes and I see the doctor makes a HUGE difference. The stress alone is enough but to have to deal with long waits that equal a PT job is unacceptable.
And no joke there was at least 1 1/2 (on a good day) I think once I was there only 45 minutes, and you didnt see a doctor. If you insisted it was at least an extra 30 minute wait.

I loved the Stony Brook office. If I decide to have #2 and need help, I would not hesitate to go back.

Re: RSofNY
I currently go to the Mineola office of RSofNY. I know some people on these boards did not have a good experience with them, but I thankful can not say the same.
I have done 3 IUI's with them, with the 3rd resulting in a BFP this month. Unfortunately, my beta levels are not doubling and I will miscarry....it is just a matter of time.
Dr. San Roman has been very good through all of this. We are currently waiting for my levels to drop to indicate that the miscarriage is about to occur. Dr. San Roman has me come in on the days he is in the office. He has even done some of my sonograms to ensure that it was not an ectopic pregnancy. He provides me with all the information that I need and he ensures that I fully understand what is going on. He is also very compassionate. And he remains positive and optimistic....which helps us stay positive as well.
Also, I have never had to wait to long for my bloodwork and sonos.
The only thing that I would recommend to ladies going there is to ask questions. When I first started going there I was lost and felt like I wasn't getting much information from the doctors. I did alot of research on-line and bought IF books and now I am constantly asking the nurses and doctors questions......that is the best way to get the answers you want.
I hope that you ladies are happy with the clinics you go too.....I know that I am
Good luck to all...lots of baby dust!!!!

I couldn't agree more!!!
I also want to say (b/c I feel that it could never be said too much) that...
Doctors are NOT G-ds. If you feel that something is not right, question it. Do not take everything they say as IT. Do your own research. Educate yourself. They make mistakes like anyone else.

Re: RSofNY
I've posted repeatedly about my experience with the Mineola office.
I wasted 7 months there. I was misdiagnosed (put on the wrong meds), only saw my doctor twice and only when I made a separate appt. later in the day.
I knew in my heart that I was never going to get pregnant there. I believe that the doctor should see you a lot more frequently.
I went to NSUH and in 5 minutes Dr. Rosenfeld looked at my chart and saw that I was put on an outdated drug protocol at Mineola... so outdated it was from the 1970's and did nothing to help my PCOS. One month at NSUH, I ovulated (it took RSofNY fours months).
Every time I went to NSUH I saw a doctor. I was able to ask thorough questions and got all of my questions answered. After 2 failed IUI's (but they did change my protocol each time) and my frist round of IVF, I'm pregnant.
I wish I had gone to NSUH all along.
