RTF Formula Question
I supplement a couple of feedings with formula and I obviously don't use as much. Now I just opened the big plastic bottle on Saturday (up to then we were using the hospital 2 oz. bottles) and on the bottle it says for storage, prepare all bottles and use within 72 hours....that sounds crazy...I'd be wasting 1/2 bottle...
So my question is, can I keep it in the big bottle refrigerated until I use it up? There's probably 2 more days of formula left...
Thanks

Re: RTF Formula Question
You should use it within 72 hours.
Since you are only supplementing a little bit, powder would probably be better for you guys

Is he just getting 2oz? I think both Similac and Enfamil sell the nursettes like the hospital has and you could get those

Re: RTF Formula Question
If you are using Similac Advance, they have 8 oz ready to feed bottles. Also, there are 13 oz (approx) cans that you have to add half water to make it and then there's the powder, but you have to use the can w/in 30 days after opening.

Re: RTF Formula Question
My ped says they do that so you will buy more formula and it is good for a week. I use it up in 2 or 3 days, but if you keep it refrigerated I don't think there is anything wrong with it after 72 hours...

We are having the same problem DS take 3.5-4oz BM but we suplement 1 bottel with formula and have the 2oz ones from the hospital so we are just wasting 1oz every day-- what are you going to do ?? :)
