Running for 30 min at 5.0 speed, no incline

Will I loose lbs doing this? And is it enough cardio to loose weight?

I am contemplating switching between this, and eliptical/stair climber every other day... what are your thoughts?

At some point this will become to easy for you so you'd need to add an incline to continue to lose weight.

I do 40 minutes but I run at 5.0 for two minutes and then 6.0 for 1 minute. I do that for 40 minutes 3 times a week I also walk at 3.5 on a 6 incline 1 day a week and I try to do my 30 day shred 1 day a week.

I think its good to switch things up often I would rotate with your elliptical

Oh, it's ok to run on an incline? Who knew...

Ok, well I guess I'll keep doing it until it becomes to easy, then switch it up...

My question that I obviously didn't word correctly..lol should I be doing more than 30 minutes? and should I do interval like run/walk to burn more calories?

I agree with you olliesmama... while I have a while to go to get "skinny" I think when I do intervals I get the most out of my workout and lose the most weight.... Its all about mixing it up or your body gets used to what it is doing and there are no results!!!!

I would add weights to your workouts as well - you will see a lot more changes adding them!

actually by keeping a lower heart rate, your body will use fat and convert it to glycogen rather than using energy directly from your circulatory system. Increasing incline and/or speed will bypass your fat.

Of course, when you increase incline and speed you will help your fitness level and you'll be able to do more at lower heart rates while burning fat.

there are tons of benefits to slow running (which I sometimes have a hard time wrapping my head around)
