Running for President!?
So, you are sitting home and all of a sudden a presidential candidate calls you up and says: "I pick YOU as my vice president for this election."
What is the first thing that pops into your mind? As in, what is the ONE thing that you KNOW would come out the moment they announced your name as the pick??

For me, it would be LIW and LIF. Imagine knowing what your vice president did to celebrate 69 days until her wedding? What she wore under her wedding dress? What she REALLY thought about the new 90210??
I ask this because I found out last night that the only reason that my brother never ran for office is bc of some pictures ( I have NO idea of what ) in his past. Most of his friends have run for office in NYC and this is the only thing stopping him!

I flashed on my last night at Mardi Gras back in 1998
I blame it on the everclear and 6 days of drinking.
ETA: my boobs were nice and perky then, maybe I should track down any photos that may exist

the skeletons in my closet are too many to name - but a few.
an ex husband of a family member is not allowed in this country due to his IRA involvement. (I've never met him)
my godfather was a politician, owed his state's govt a lot of money, was going to get caught, left a suicide note - fled, there was a nationwide manhunt - he turned himself in, went to prison for a year.
I'm sure there are others - but those are the big ones that would disqualify me, I'm sure.
Otherwise I'd totally be chosen!!!!!

An ex-boyfriend I dumped who had substand abuse (and mental issues). I had orders of protection against him for a few years, and moved because of him after he broke into my apartment and destroyed most of my stuff. This resulted in a grand jury hearing and him going to prison. It was all quite some time ago, but I'm sure people would dig up court records.
But I'm sure my judgement would be questioned for dating this person, and people would wonder if I indulged in substances with him (I did not). All I can say in my defense is I was young and stupid, but this incident made me grow up fast!
I was thinking I could never run for and elected office because of this though.
Other than this, I'm pretty much squeaky clean.

ahhh yes I didn't even think of that kind of stuff.
My grandmother went to our Councilman to get my father out of the army because if he was sent to Vietnam my whole family would have had to go back to Italy! He spent a few years in Georgia for training but then they let him leave before my family had to sell the house - so i guess that would be seen as not honorable even though he was supporting his mother, dying father, sister, wife and two kids
and I have a few family members who came here through Canada illegally. . .
and back in Italy a great uncle or something was hit by the very first car in my parents' town. . .

For a major liberal like myself, it wouldn't help me for my constituents to learn that when I first registered to vote I joined the Right To Life Party.
About 6 months after that I did a complete 180 on the issue but didn't bother to change my party affiliation on paper until 8 years later.
I don't think that would go over well with my fellow liberals.

Hmmm, just realized I have cousins who are Chinese and cousins who are Lebanese. One of my friends used to date an Iranian.
