Running Help
So I started training for the LI Half Marathon this week. I have a treadmill at home and find that I hate running on a treadmill. I need ideas to help me get thru it till I can get outside. I am going to go home tonight and select a lot of upbeat songs to play in a row to keep me going but does any have any other ideas. Thank you

Re: Running Help
I like to watch Jeopardy when I jog at an easy pace, then I run fast during the commercials.
Bu most of the time I am just listening to my ipod.

Re: Running Help
I turn on the tv. I work out in my apartment complex's gym and am usually the first one there so I turn on Oprah and run for an hour

Re: Running Help
Irene I have no ideas for you! I hate indoor running! I stare out the window and long for it to be warm outside so I can run out there again
What works for me best is when I have a buddy at the gym with me to distract me. Since you are at home I would probably do as the pp mentioned and watch some tv!

Re: Running Help
Do you have a TV near your treadmill. I started watching a new show on it. Go onto hulu.com and pick a show that you have always wanted to watch but just never picked up. For me - I started watching Fringe. I started at episode #1. I am able to get through 50 minutes on the treadmill each time and it flies by. It keeps me completely engaged and I cant wait to get back on the next day to get to the next episode.

Re: Running Help
I select a program on the treadmill that varies the incline or I play around with the speed. Making these changes every minute or so keeps me from getting bored. It's also a more effective workout!
