Ryan needs to have his hearing tested and be sedated for it
Ughh.. I am not looking forward to this...
He has a speech delay, so EI recommended that I test his hearing as there could be fluid in his inner ear preventing him from hearing correctly, thus causing the speech issue. SOO, I take him to the audiologist today, he completely freaks when walk into the exam room, and didn't stop until we left.  They couldn't test his hearing since he was so hysterical (he is petrified of the Dr.) and he recommended that I bring him to either LIJ or StonyBrook where he will need to be sedated. I just hate to do this to him, but know it needs to get done.

I'm so sorry. My son did the same thing in the office, all they could tell me was that he could hear normal speech tone. I chose not to sedate, but he did not show any signs of fluid.

Try again with another audiologist. We had to try three times with my oldest. Now we have one scheduled for the 28th with my 1 year old. Same reason fluid...........

how old is he???
thanks.. he is 2.
He will NEVER be anything less than hysterical at any Dr. office, so I know that this needs to be done in order to find out for sure.
