S/O to school lunches post
All of those recipes looked great. However, DS wouldnt touch 80% of that would a 10 foot pole!
He even hates Strawberries.....who hates strawberries??????
How do you encourage good and healthy eating if your DC wont eat anything by nuggets, mac n cheese, pizza, normal kid staples??
Id love to be able to make stuff like that for him but he would actually starve himself instead of eating it.

Re: S/O to school lunches post
Super Nanny last week had them sit at the table until the 3 boys on the episode at least TRIED it. One of the boys as young as Eddie. They all ended up devouring what the Dad had made but it took a struggle on their end for a bit. (he could end up like Bobby and only eat chicken cutlets until he's 12 lol )

Re: S/O to school lunches post
My mom use to try and make meal time fun. Let me help her cook, or in the summer we would garden together. Which made me interested in the food we were growing.
The other thing that she use to do which we crack up about now, is she would say in a funny tone, dont eat that grape or dont eat that strawberry, and i would think it was liek junk and i would sneak fruit off the table. Only if i knew thats what she wanted was for me to eat the fruit.

Ohh just remembered ..If he's visual..you can take a pic of every new food he tries and put it in a book for him and see how many pages you can fill...that may be incentive...
"look we get to put another picture in your book....yay"
My SIL did this!!

OOOI forgot another thing my mom would do was for every new food I tired she would give me like .50 cents. So maybe he will wanna try knowing he will get money in return.
Also spitting the food out, doesnt count

Very cute idea Linda! I'm bookmarking this. If you look through the weelicious website there are so many things she makes that kids like the "look" of... she makes spaghetti pie (looks like a piece of pie) and a lot of other things that are bite-size, in the form of cupcakes, etc. I also agree with the poster that said to let him help you make stuff, I think he'll be more willing to try what he helped you make.
