SAHM-does anyone watch soaps? or is this a lost art?
just wondering...I don't and none of the moms I hang with ever talk about them either...I think with DVR, naptime means catching up on MTV and Bravo.
My mother was a soap watching sahm.

Yeah, everyone asks me what is my favorite soap now that I'm a SAHM. I dont watch them though. I did more in high school lol. Now I just leave on QVC all day and sometimes TLC or WE. Still all girl channels lol.

I'm a PT SAHM.
I do watch General Hospital while DD naps. It's really the only time during the day the TV is on.

LMAO. I'm an ABC soap junkie. I have been since I was 7 years old. I was home with the chicken pox and my mom, grandmother and GREAT grandmother all sat there and watched them. We only had 1 t.v. so I watched too. AMC, OLTL and GH!!! My friend even got me to watch Days here and there when AMC got boring.

Haha no. Although I do watch a lot of trash TV like desperate housewives, one tree hill, bravo shows etc., so its almost like my generation of soaps lol.

I don't. But when I was a kid, my mom used to tape Guiding Light and we'd watch it all together.
My grandmother and cousins always watch All My Children.
I watch Gossip Girl, does that count?

no soaps. I don't get to watch TV during the day - if the TV's on, its for the kids. No shows for me until they go to bed.

I don't like soaps myself, but my mom was a SAHM and I totally remember not being allowed to interrupt her during "her shows" every afternoon, lol. I think it was Young and the Restless, and As the World Turns.

No and I grew up watching All My Children. I tried when DS was born, but can't get back into it. I think soaps are definately dying out.

Nope, I have never seen a soap, my Mom didn't watch them either so maybe its not in the genes
I do DVR all of the cake shows and sometimes watch them during the day.

I dvr One Life to Live and GH...but mostly will watch OLTL while DD naps and thats really it for soaps, never really GH

The only soap I watched was General Hospital. And I stopped watching long before Ryan. I couldn't keep up with a show that was on 5 days a week. Too much of a commitment. Aside from the fact he doesn't nap from 3-4 which is when it is on anyway.
Instead I have plenty of other shows to catch up on when he naps. All my evening drama shows that DH refuses to watch! (IE Gossip Girl  90210 Trauma, Fringe, The Good Wife, etc)

Not a SAHM yet but will be come June.....I LOVE GH. DVR it every day and watch it when I get home from work. If 3pm isn't a good time for me to watch tv when  arrives...I'll still DVR and watch it when I can.

Never, but my grandmother still watches Days of Our Lives religiously. She'll always be like "I have to get home to see if Beau makes it out alive" --- UMMM, hasn't he died about 25 times
