SAHM s/o- play groups
Just wondering how everyone found a playgroup that works for them?
None of my friends have babies or if they do they are much older than my DS...
Since I am a SAHM Mom, money is kind of tight so we can't do gymboree right now. What are some good ways for me to find a group? I have gone on Meet up.com but I found it confusing. Is that what everyone does? I have to say I have been going a little stir crazy lately with this cold weather.
Please share how you found your "group"??
TIA

Re: SAHM s/o- play groups
We have a group of friends from here. I used to be in a meetup group which I liked, but it kind of dissolved. We do alot of playgroups on here and behind the scenes. And come spring - arboretum Fridays!!

Re: SAHM s/o- play groups
I'm not a SAHM but I joined a couple of groups on meetup. One is geared specifically towards moms who work, so almost all activities are on the weekend.
I am part of 2 other groups but most of their activities take place during the week and I cannot attend them.

It's alot of fun! And alot of the kiddies are around the same age as yours...
Also, go to open play at whatever places have them! And the library!

Re: SAHM s/o- play groups
the huntington library is great - there are a few classes for little guys -
but just go play and you will meet mom's - there are buckets full of board books that my son loves to look at

Re: SAHM s/o- play groups
I did prenatal yoga when I was pregnant. After our babies were born, 3 of us continued into a mommy/baby yoga class, and we met some other mommies and babies there, and now we formed a playgroup of about 7 or 8 of us!

Re: SAHM s/o- play groups
I moved here pregnant, so no friends at all, no family.
I started out at the library. I noticed the same kids leaving the library were also heading to the park...so then we started packing lunches and meeting there.
meetup.com is good for finding people to hang with. you and your kids aren't going to find great friends in all 50 moms...so find ones that you like, email them to meet you at a bouncehouse one day.
good luckl
