SAHM what do you do during the day with DC

I'm trying to find things for DS and I to do during the day. The hospital I delivered at has mommy and me GTG at the hospital once a week and I looked into the local library for mommy and me things but he's still a little young for the things they offer. Their are no gymboree's or anything like that near us. The closest one is about and hour or more from us.

I'm in FL. The weather has been really nice so we do go on walks everyday.

During the day I'll take DD to the park, open play, shopping, visit family, mall walk meet up group.

I know some moms have found some good groups using meetup.com, maybe you can check the site out and see what's near you.

I am a recent SAHM after taking a layoff. My DD's are 3 and 18 months. I did two things. Joined a mother's group that meets a few times a week, and got a library card. I'd like to know other ideas too!

We go walking every day.
If its nice out, outside -
if not, the mall.

I meet up with my friends who are SAHM's as well. I visit family too.

We'll go to the mall...outlets...visit family and friends. In the summer we went to the park...ecology center...stuff like that.

Most days we stay home. We read and play with toys. Sometimes I am playing with them and other times they are content playing with eachother or alone. I can't wait until they are old enough to color and do arts and crafts; that's going to be fun!

When we go out , other than running errands, we go to a park for a few and have a little fun but now that it's cold we'll be at the library. I don't to gtg's or meet ups that often. In the summer I do more.

To be totally honest, I don't go out all the time b/c I want my kids to be content and entertained in their own home. I made the mistake with my oldest. We were always on the go, doing this, that and the third and having tons of fun. Well when we didn't go out it was always I"M BORED blah blah blah. She was so used to being on the go that when we weren't, she didn't know what to do with herself.

So that has alot to do with staying in a lot. Still and all we never run out of things to do at home. With that said, there are just times when you need to get the heck out! lol

eta: I have 2 friends who are sahm too and we gtg and do playdates occasionally.

We also stay home a lot. We do go to the gym every morning though, and she loves socializing with the other kids.

Sometimes we get together with my friends and their kids (go to the mall, lunch, etc).

We usually go shopping or visit my parents. A lot of the time we just stay home and play. I don't really have any friends with children (they are all single or just got married) and the only friends I have with children live out of state, so my options with a 9 month old are limited. Im thinking of joining Mommy and Me though.

I am the opposite of carolyn and have since created a monster

rainy days for us are a death sentance.
so there is a positive in staying home.

when he was really little, I would walk to barnes and nobles, park him and read magazines.

I joined a moms group...we would meet up.

really, just a ton of walking.

ETA:
once he hit 6 months, we were really out and about. that's when we became regulars at parks, pools, toddler classes at a kid's musuem, playdates, library classes, storytimes at bookstores..

Playgroups! I was the playgroup queen!!! And coffee mornings. I loved getting out and about and meeting people, call your local churches and see if they run playgroups.
