SAHM's , teachers and mom that have off in summer
Do you send your kids to summer camp? Last year I did, and felt very rushed and scheduled the whole summer. Thinking of keeping them home this summer, but not sure
Ets: kids will be 4 and 5 yo next summer

Nope. So expensive. My DD has always been home with me but I have signed her up for a few activities in the summer just not a full time, all summer long, formal camp. KWIM?

How old are your kids? If less than 5 I would say it is not needed.

My kids are little, 4 years old and 5 months. I have always kept my 4 year old home in the summer. I would imagine I'll keep him home until maybe 3rd grade? I figure that's when he'll want to go to camp with his friends.

No, I don't see my kids the entire school year, I like them to be home and we do fun things, go to the beach, vacation, etc. A few days of specialty camps is what we do (gymnastics, etc.).

Yes majority of the kids in my town go to camp there is no children at town pool or at park during camp hours. I myself went to camp and loved it and want her to have the same experience.

I think it depends on the culture of your community and your childhood. I was never a camp kid and lived in a neighborhood where no one really did camp (and we are in the process of trying to move to where I grew up), so I don't envision my kids getting into the camp thing unless they tell me they want to. I have friends who grew up going to camp and now live in communities where camp is almost assumed, and their kids were in camp from age 3.

I will be sending DD to the Sumer rec program run by the schools this summer. It's done by 12 and not expensive so if I want to keep her homei won't feel bad. She thrives with structure and will be going into K in the fall so I'd like to give her the chance to meet some possible friends. We will still have the rest of the day for pool/beach/play dates
