San Francisco Pork chops recipe

this is so delicious

serves 4

1 Tsp olive oil
4 lean boneless pork chops
4 cups no-yolk egg noodles
Diced red or green bell pepper for garnish

for the sauce

1/4 cup of dry sherry or apple juice (i use the apple juice)
2 tablespoons of firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons of reduce-sodium (or regular) soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon of crushed hot red pepper flakes (if you like it mild, just add a dash)
2 teaspoons of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of water

Directions:

1. to prepare the sauce, in a small bowl, combine sherry, brown sugar, soy sauce and hot red pepper flakes. Set aside.

2. In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add chops: cook until browned about 2 min on each side.

3. Pour the sauce over the chops. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer until cooked through, about 10 min. Add water, if needed, to kkep sauce from cooking down too much.

4. While chops are simmering, cook the noodles according to package directions. Drain well and place on serving plates.

5. Using tongs, place pork chops over noodles; cover to keep warm. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water; stir into sauce in skillet. Cook over medium heat until thickened, about 1 to 2 mins. Pour sauce over chops. Garnish with bell pepper and serve.

I usually make this will grilled asparagus or french style green beans. ENJOY Chat Icon

Re: San Francisco Pork chops recipe

The recipe I used also calls for sherry or broth...I used beef broth.

I'm going to make it again really soon...DH just loved it and wants me to make him some more!
